OUR PRIVACY POLICY (version May 22, 2018)

This Privacy Policy is meant to help you understand what information we collect, why we collect it, and how you can update, manage, export, and delete your information.

By using our products and services you agree that you have read this Privacy Policy carefully and you agree to this without reservation. We can change this Privacy Policy if we deem it necessary - changes will always be communicated via the Qbus website.

 

From whom do we collect, which data do we collect and why?

We collect data from the following parties:

  • Qbus customers:
    • These are companies or persons who purchase or have purchased products or services directly from Qbus.
    • Personal identification data is kept of the Qbus customers (name, address, telephone, e-mail, website and company VAT number, name, address, telephone and e-mail of staff members).
    • This information is required for the customer administration and the provision of service and support if necessary (execution of the agreement). In addition, the Qbus customers - with their explicit consent - are regularly informed of new Qbus products, services, planned training, participation in trade fairs, etc. Finally, the data of Qbus installers is placed on the Qbus website with their permission, so that they can be contacted directly by end customers.
  • Qbus partners:
    • These include architects, construction companies, integrators, supervisors, engineering firms and other parties that are not Qbus customers but are involved in the construction process.
    • Personal identification data is kept of the Qbus partners (name, address, telephone, e-mail, website and company VAT number, name, address, telephone and e-mail of staff members).
    • This data is used to contact the Qbus partners to have commercial conversations about projects and to send out information via newsletters, subject to their explicit consent.
  • Qbus and Ubie users or owners:
    • These are people who own or use a Qbus or Ubie installation.
    • The following personal identification details are kept of Qbus and Ubie users or owners: language preference, user name, name, postal code, country and e-mail address. Also electronic identification data such as cookies, connection status with the Cloud, statuses of all Qbus or Ubie-controlled inputs and outputs is being gathered.
    • The personal identification data are required to establish a link between the owner / user and the Qbus or Ubie installation, so that these installations can be used with Qbus Control (with which the installation via the internet can be operated, visualized, operated, monitored from anywhere). The electronic identification data is maintained by Qbus in order to provide support if necessary, to enable operation on the Cloud, and to display historical graphs on Qbus Control. The Qbus and Ubie users who gave their explicit permission will also receive newsletters from Qbus with tips and news at regular intervals.

In case of errors in the address, billing or other personal information, Qbus can not be held liable for the failure to meet its obligations (eg delivery or notification). You are responsible for the confidentiality of the password linked to your user profile. Minors under 18 can not use our site unless they have permission from their parents or guardians. 

 

What do we do with your information?

We use the information we collect from all our services for the following purposes:

 

Provide our services

We use your information to deliver our services, like displaying the real-time status of Qbus- or Ubie-controlled inputs and outputs on the Cloud, and showing consumption and usage charts up to one month in the past.

 

Maintain & improve our services

We also use your information to ensure our services are working as intended, such as tracking outages or troubleshooting issues that you report to us. Using your information we can also display outages, planned maintenance or updates in the message field of Qbus Control.

 

Develop new services

We use the information we collect in existing services to help us develop new ones.

 

Communicate with you

We use information we collect, like your email address, to interact with you directly. For example, we may send you a notification about available updates or planned maintenance. Or we may let you know about upcoming changes or improvements to our services, new products, planned training sessions. And if you contact Qbus, we’ll keep a record of your request in order to help solve any issues you might be facing.

Our company can use consumer information for new purposes that are not yet provided for in our privacy policy. In that case, we will contact you before using your information for these new purposes, to inform you about the changes to our privacy policy and to give you the opportunity to refuse your participation.

 

With whom do we share your data?

Your personal information is not disclosed, sold or made available under any condition to any third party. We only make it available to third parties involved in the execution of your order (for example the courier company).

 

Non-personal data such as a sequence of statuses of inputs and outputs of your Qbus or Ubie system within a certain time frame can be made available to Qbus subcontractors who take on specific R & D tasks for and on behalf of Qbus. These subcontractors use this data according to our instructions and in accordance with our privacy policy and other appropriate confidentiality and security measures.

 

We will share personal information outside of Qbus for legal reasons, if we have a good-faith belief that access, use, preservation, or disclosure of the information is reasonably necessary to:

  • Meet any applicable law, regulation, legal process or enforceable governmental request.
  • Enforce applicable Terms of Service, including investigation of potential violations.
  • Detect, prevent, or otherwise address fraud, security, or technical issues.
  • Protect against harm to the rights, property or safety of Qbus, our users, or the public as required or permitted by law.

Delete or change data
Would you like to check your information? Or do you wish that Qbus modifies or removes your data from its system? This is possible. Please send your request by email to info@qbus.be, so we can handle it quickly for you.


How do we process data?

We only process your personal data that is necessary to achieve the objectives stated in this policy. We will process your personal data in a legal and transparent manner. And also do our utmost to keep the personal details accurate and up-to-date.

 

Your personal data will only be processed until you withdraw your consent to the processing. This withdrawal of consent may imply that you are no longer able to use our services in whole or in part. As a Qbus customer, we will keep your administrative data for 3 years for accounting reasons. The use of your data for marketing activities will be stopped immediately.

 

We will take appropriate technical and organizational measures to keep your personal information safe from unauthorized access or theft and against unintentional loss, manipulation or destruction. Access by our staff or staff of our external partners is only possible on a need-to-know basis and is subject to strict confidentiality obligations.

 

Security

We protect your privacy in the following ways:

  • The communication between Qbus and Ubie installations and Qbus Control is encrypted.
  • Your personal data as well as the data we maintain about your Qbus or Ubie installation are securely stored in a non-publicly accessible database.
  • When ordering products or services via our websites, your transaction information is encrypted and protected by SSL technology so third parties can not access your information. A customer who places an online order on this site and opts for online payment (eg via Visa or MasterCard), will be asked to enter the card number and expiration date. The processing of this transaction is performed by the certified payment providers. Another option is to pay via bank transfer. Payment providers guarantee a 100% secure transaction. Qbus employees will not be able to see your credit card number or any other confidential payment information.

How we use cookies

If you agree, the file will be added and the cookie helps to analyze web traffic, or will let you know if you visit a particular site. Cookies allow web applications to respond to you as an individual. The web application can adapt to your preferences and disapproval by gathering information about your preference.
