At the start of their new construction project in Gooik, Vincent and Sara were curious about the possibilities of home automation. They wanted to list all the available options. When Sales Engineer Samuel presented the Qbus concept to them at their home, Vincent, with his technical background, was immediately very interested. For Sara, however, it was less straightforward. She wanted to see the system in action before making a decision.

A detailed, user-friendly explanation

To make an informed decision, Samuel invited them to visit the Qbus showroom in Erpe-Mere, where Sara could experience all functionalities of Qbus firsthand.

In the showroom, Service Engineer Stan provided a comprehensive demonstration of all products. Sara emphasized the importance of seeing everything "in real life": "The visit to the showroom really convinced me to choose Qbus. This extra experience and the personal approach made all the difference." Vincent was also impressed by Stan’s technical expertise and clear explanations: "Thanks to his professional advice, we decided to go with a DALI lighting control system, for example."

With the showroom visit completed, Vincent and Sara started searching for the right installer. On the Qbus website, they found an overview of all available installers. After careful consideration, they chose Nictric from Oordegem, a young, proactive company with extensive experience in the installation and configuration of Qbus systems.

An installation that exceeds expectations

Sara and Vincent opted for a full Qbus installation. Outside their home, they have two Mennekes charging stations, along with a roof covered in solar panels and a delightful pool in the garden. The pool was equipped with a temperature sensor, ensuring that the water is always kept at the desired temperature.

The Qbus system manages the pool’s energy efficiently: when there is a surplus of solar energy, the pool is heated extra; when there's no surplus, it isn’t heated. This way, Vincent and Sara can always enjoy a refreshing dip or a warm bath.

Inside the house, Vincent and Sara benefit from all the smart automation that Qbus offers. The lighting is equipped with dimming functions to create extra ambiance, while smart switches with temperature sensors ensure a comfortable warmth in the living room and bathroom. They control their home easily via the Qbus Control app on their smartphones.

Additionally, automatic shutter control prevents too much sunlight from entering, helping them avoid overheating in summer and eliminating the need for extra energy to cool the spaces.

Simple and conscious savings

The smart electricity manager Luqas controls the major energy consumers, such as the heat pump and the charging stations. “This allows us to save significantly on energy and avoid peak consumption. Luqas distributes our energy usage evenly throughout the day, enabling optimal use of electricity without sacrificing comfort.” Furthermore, both devices serve as a buffer when there is a surplus of energy generated by the solar panels.

Their decision to invest in a smart home with Qbus automation results not only in a high level of comfort and convenience but also in substantial energy savings.

Thanks to Qbus, they now have a fully integrated system that perfectly meets their needs: from the solar panels on the roof to the smart switches in the house and the Luqas electricity manager. Their home is now truly ready for the future.
