Experience Qbus: a guide to your showroom visit

Want to truly experience Qbus? Then visit one of our Qbus showrooms in Erpe-Mere, Bruges, Ghent, Antwerp, or Zaventem (coming soon). Whether you are a homeowner, installer, or property developer, you can explore the numerous possibilities of the Qbus system. Based on your needs, we are happy to inspire you with smart solutions that make your life easier, more cost-effective, and energy-efficient.

But how should you best prepare for your visit, and what can you expect? Below, we outline the process of a visit to a Qbus showroom. The better prepared you are for the conversation, the more effectively we can assist you. Please allow about two hours for the appointment so we can calmly discuss and review all your questions in detail.

Don't forget to bring along your project plan. If you already have a lighting plan, be sure to bring it as well.

STEP 1: Preparation

Do you already have an idea of why you want to integrate a smart Qbus solution into your project? Are you convinced of all the benefits of automation, or are you here on the advice of your installer? There are several reasons why you might want to visit a Qbus showroom:

  • Do you want more information about the Qbus system?
  • Are you visiting to view the design of our modules?
  • Would you like an indication of the price?
  • Do you prefer to compare all brands of smart solutions?
  • Are you a self-builder and want to work in a budget-friendly way?

Tell us what your expectations are, and we will be happy to help you further. Our Qbus expert would love to hear which technologies you are considering and what your wishes are for your project. Do you have a specific project question that you want to address with Qbus? This could be about lighting, but also, for example, controlling your charging station.

For example, Jan visited us because he wanted to work with different atmospheres in his living room. He wanted to avoid having a large number of switches and be able to perform multiple actions with a single button.

Based on your input, you will receive a series of questions that will give us an idea of your project:

  • Is it a new build or a renovation project?
  • What is the current status of the project? Are the plastering works already completed?
  • How will you heat your home?
  • Would you like to control the screens automatically to cool the house passively? Or do you choose air conditioning?
  • Would you like to easily see who is at your door at any time? Have you ever thought about opening your door or garage remotely?
  • Do you have other devices in the house that you would like to connect?

Jan's initial input looks like this: Jan is a self-employed painter and is renovating a house from 1920. He wants to make his entire home compatible with the latest technologies. The solar panels, underfloor heating, and heat pump are already installed, and he wants to explore the possibilities of controlling them smartly. In his living room, he would like to work with different atmospheres.

STAP 2: EXPLORING ALL QBUS POSSIBILITIES

Based on your wishes and your answers to the questions, your Qbus advisor will go through all the options in detail. In many cases, we start from the beginning and present our basic installation, Qbus Stand Alone. This is simple, affordable, and expandable entry-level home automation.

If you have a complete automation system with central intelligence in mind, we move on to Qbus Full. This more comprehensive installation with a controller effortlessly combines heating, cooling, ventilation, security, lighting, screens, gates, audio, and much more into one integrated system.

Our energy management module, Luqas, will also be reviewed. Luqas uses digital meters and advanced technologies to use energy efficiently, reduce costs, and provide optimal comfort. Luqas manages your heavy consumers to avoid a consumption peak.

Finally, we close the loop with the Qbus Open story and introduce our external partners. With our Ubiebox, we bring together smart home systems from the Internet of Things into one integrated system.

In Jan's case, we explained the possibilities of controlling light, temperature, and movement with one switch. We presented our modules to him so that he never has to deal with flickering lights and can determine the ambiance and dimming level himself. Installing a Luqas module is also an interesting option for Jan. He has solar panels and a heat pump at home. With Luqas, he can optimize the performance of his solar panels.

STeP 3: TIME TO REFLECT

After our Qbus advisor has gathered all the input, it's time to give you feedback. If you wish, he can prepare an example calculation. In that case, make sure to include all items in the quote so you have a complete picture of the possibilities and don't overlook any items.

With an example calculation, you will have an idea of the cost of the Qbus modules. This, of course, refers to the price excluding wiring, connection, or programming.

Then we leave you to decide at your own pace. If you have any questions, we are always at your service.
